I'm finally blogging again! Yes, Scott and I have had our blog set up for the past couple years - which we started after I gave up my old blog - but it's oh so different when you're sharing a blog.
1) You get lazy because you count on the other person to do the updating, and inevitably neither of you does it.
2) Somehow you feel the need to publish shared thoughts/experiences... and I find that more difficult then compiling my own thoughts/experiences and sharing them. So, I got lazy. Make sense?
I promise to continue making updates to our shared blog but in the meantime here are the reasons why I found it important to start my own blog again:
1) Being a mom of a newborn, I've found that my life revolves around this baby. I love motherhood and I adore my little girl Sophie. However, I think it is important and healthy to maintain a life or a 'self' that isn't baby-related. A baby book I recently read reminded me that I am a mother, yes, but I am also a wife, a daughter, a sister, and a friend... and I must not lose touch with all these other selves. I also like to think of myself as an artist, a web designer, an entrepreneur, a traveler, a photographer, a wanderer and a wonderer. It is my hope that this website will serve as a means of getting back in touch with all that is... Charlotte.
2) It's winter and I'm home with the baby, taking a break from the business and making motherhood my full-time job. This means I'm at home a lot! What better opportunity to take out my camera and snap away -- what's the most obvious subject matter? Why, my baby, of course. She's cute and all and I love capturing those first smiles and cute little outfits, but I'm the first to admit, there's more to life than my baby! It is my hope that this website will motivate me to get out there -- literally, get outside -- and start taking pictures of life's other wonders... not just the baby.
3) My good friend Katie, who a few years ago pooh-poohed (yes that's a word, I just looked it up) the idea of a blog, just started her very own blog centered around the idea of GRATITUDE. I find this totally inspiring and strongly believe that the more grateful you are for the wonderful things in your life the more wonderful things will come to be in your life! I hope this website will remind me to be grateful.
There you have it. May the blogging begin!!!
